THANKS be TO Glasgow U alumn fazle abed- small may be beautiful but in ending poverty, large scale coalition empowering women community building is essential..1billiongirls.com asks how many 1 billion dollar sdg investments a year can women empowerment coalitions inspire: brac bangladesh billion dollar microfinance loans ; abed ultra poor billion dollar grants a year; bkash billion dollar cashless banking for poor ; brac bank billion dollar youth engagement and sme city bank; billion dollars of lowest cost remittances; billion dollar investments in each of 5 ages of schooling ; billion dollar vaccine empowering poorest families grants ; 10 agricultural value chains whose crop sxcience and ai data is networked around poorest asian farmers...

IR43210-four industrial revolutions have emerged since
1760 when 2 scots watt and smith began IR1 the age of humans and machines focusing first on machine energy/power way beyond that of horse and man-
since 1957 - thanks to legacy of john von neumann- it has been possible to map ut 5 types of economies with 2 new ones IR3, IR4 being added by alumni of von neumann;
in between IR2 -telecoms revolutions started to scale when scot alexander bell offered americans first opportunity tp scale telephones across a continent .. soon telegrams and phones were being supplemented by radio, then television - then satellite telecoms which was to mobilise personal and societal devices; whilst IR4 has accelerateds as the most valuable games human livelihoods ever played from late 2000s both with unprecedented data connecting worldwide human decision-making and by then over a billion times more computing power than had coded moon landing- while the monetary rise may focus ever more on ir4;
nonetheless sustainability's last chance in 2020s depends on integration starting from IR0-
in 2021 half a billion asian women celebrated having lifted a billion out of the most extreme poverty -under a dollar a day- it is their work that needs to be included in the way millennials understand mother earth if they are to be the first sustainability generation.

the archives of fazle abed - collected by friends - have we missed a keynote lecture rsvp chris.macrae@yahoo.co.uk

community resiliency is needed both to be ready for climate challenges, legal protection eg where more powerful citizens dump waste on poorer, and so that underclasses do not exst- if any demographic is exluded from productivity sustainability is impossible to generate .................
brac began with building for 100000 refugees - 16000 homes at under$2 per home- eg village males built own homes- from then on, brac raised livelihoods of women from close to 0% to 100% -in parallel china wasa undergoing women hold up half sky revolution- consequently village women empowered to swap solutions -ultimately ending extreme poverty of billion rural people over 45 year period
barefoot lawyers
initial sanitation design pit latrines-
by building 100000 regional lab as early as 1972- brac could test service concepts -and then scale across all 60000+ villages -fast with life saving action learning eg oral rehydration, vaccines - as steadily as investment trust could scale moicrofranchieses of positive cashflow village mothers businesses- overall brac's servant leasership model scaled faster than top down goverment which at time of indeoenence had barely any tax revenue and few engineering skilled people matching abed's 10 years experience which had seen him rise as engineer to region ceo of royal dutch shell oil company

......as reported economist asia rising 1975-77- two uniquely asian models -belt capital roadsters and rural keynianism have sustianed rise of 70% of humans who are asian -because of western empires vast majority of people on asian continent had been left out of first industrial revolutions - not being on electricity grids they were left out of both ir1 carbon powers industrial revolution and ir2 telecoms revolution ; by 1960 japan korea south and far east islands had recovered from world war 2 - they linked in the roadster model and from 1972 bangladesh became the worlds open lab for rural keynes while from 1976 china became a rural girls networker as well as multipier of the radster model- so the purest models of how half a billion women ended extreme poverty come from bangladesh coalitions but the biggest rise come from how china multiplied both models on a contiental scale

it is quite possible that more peoples livelihood economies in 2020 depend on eric yuan than anyone else- i welcome your alternative nominations though equally the tools we most need to survive from 2020 are not really about one person they are about what empowers life critical actions by and for all of us wherever we deliver community/last mile service

you might say that while personal computers connected more peoples worldwide than ever before email -eg america online steve case and web browsing -berners lee- offered the greatest freedom to communicate
 - text and skype initially empowered the most life matter (humanly loving) connections worldwide but then tools valued by the two-third majority of humans in the east:wechat copied by whatsapp, and zoom copied by teams became what peoples relied on most

where would the vast majority of students , teachers and tele-workers be without zoom from virus spring 2020- my father hosted some of the earliest debates on futurising  the purpose of telecommuting in the 1960s- before he died in 2010 he identified his all time greatest hero of human sustainability as coalitions of what has become the largest societal business economy - gravitated by sir fazle abed

========================================

more on entering the age of data clouds from 2010 -nb more data on tracing individual human interactions has been collected from birth of mobile devices than ever before becuase these devices were locationally tracked by satellite gps- in actuality the mobile phones is the first of an unknowable number of devices -now called the internet of things- agriculture uses eg unmanned drones; cties traffic and safety services depend not just on smart cameras but poentially robotics imitating any of humans 5 senses but able to do far more analysis in a few seconds than a human brain can do in a lifetime- the way we peoples humannise aridficial intelligence is to map what data they use transparently- america who had up to ten years lead on this at year 2000 has seenits public servants completely fail to keep up with this transformational diagnosis- governments needed enginners not lawyers and numbers professions making rules that have resulted in the biggest western organisations also being trhe west's and in somecases the world's least sustainable systems ever

personal devices moved on to text and then smart mobiles-while apple invented the first proprietary smart phone network, it was the open source kernel of torvaulds that google turned into android and which south korean samsung and then chinese companies made economical connecting peoples globally geography is such that 65% of people are eastern, 15% are north western, 15% are southern, and up to 5% are currently most impacted by climate making these geographically racist terms all but irrelevant

- you can ask of all these tools were they free or were they data collection systems -this is where we are in 2020- but wester media has faked this issue with its first comer advantages all the way to the banking scams of 2008- agian a western invention

but since usa has not got any examples of big data serving the people's sustainability goals, what has become washington dc's total abuse of asians who have piloted some solutions disgraces the 6 western members of the g8 who anyway were together with russia and japan the main actors of the colonial era of slavery, genocide and underclasses which ended in 2 world wars

comparison of berners lee and eric yuan
while i hope eric does become one of the greatest billion-anthropists of all time, i am reminded of tim berners lee- the first to free all os because he never wanted to be a billionaire but wanted to hub out of a university - mit- which tried to keep all of us free

i am reminded of how the bbc in 2012 disgraced the whole english speaking world - instead of launching a curriculum from the london olympics of what did berners lee mean by the internet as i dreamed of it we have not seen it yet and not begun to app it to britain's greatest invention the national health service it gave somewhat less coverage to this than it did to particular gold medal winners - one reason why the bust olympics must be while designed by east if sports arts fashion are to free the lives matter generation as youth'd borderless movement
